Hey, I’m Izzac… generally I don’t get up too much but on really good days I like to read and write. Sounds cliche I know but my brother’s father always aspired to be a writer and that I guess inspired a younger me. At the moment life is a bit hectic as I’ve just moved to a new apartment in the lace market it’s a diamond in the rough but it’ll soon shine once I’m done. Throughout lockdown in a strange way I’ve been more social than usual, all of my friends will tell you I’m a home boy but through the use of things like Zoom and WhatsApp even I’ve been able to stay connected with friends and have a real laugh.
September is always a busy month for me with loads of birthdays. It’s fell slightly perfectly as were slowly backing out of right restrictions so hopefully we’ll be able to properly party soon, I’m just really ready for everything to feel normal again. This month has already started with a bang with the uproar around Adele rocking Bantu nots and a Jamaica flag bra, personally I think it bangs! I saw a post that said something along the lines of “her hair was done by Jamaicans and they didn’t care…” which is my complete stance here. I think we should definitely welcome conversation on these things always to allows us all to speak with one voice but my overall opinion is that one a day for us Caribbean people to celebrate our heritage we should welcome anyone along who wants to celebrate with us.
